We were born for this...
I was reading Matt. 9:28-30 this morning. There is something very basic and raw about this scripture. If I can allow myself to see my world the way that Jesus does, what will I see? The "harvest" Jesus talks about is still waiting all around us. Jesus uses two images here to describe what He sees... the first is a massive gathering of sheep without a shepherd... the second is a harvest that is waiting to be gathered in. We can't help a culture of people who are looking for a shepherd unless we own our responsibility to be leaders. Neither can we fulfill our life mission unless we search for it in the context of gathering in God's harvest... connecting people with faith in Jesus Christ. We were born for this!

God's word is so alive. I love the way God can use His word to speak truth to us fresh everyday. Thank you for sharing what God said to you today. Sharing is part of growing. When we see what God is saying to others it challenges us to seek what He wants to say to us.
ReplyDeleteBeing a leader is something that God gives as a gift to us. Some would say that it is not for everyone. I would tend to agree, but from the perspective that you give here, it seems that this is for all of us. We all need to be ready and willing to be used by God to Connect people with Faith in Jesus Christ. Thanks for shedding this light on this scripture. You always challenge me in a positive way to look at things from a different perspective and I appreciate that.
